The Airway Bridge, developed by veteran firefighter/paramedic Steve Islava, is designed to help the rescuer quickly establish and maintain a continuously open airway. The Airway Bridge is easy to use and flexible enough to accomodate a variety of patient sizes and dimensions. Its ease of operation allows rescuers to concentrate more on maintaining a complete seal with a mask and resuscitator bag, and to minimize any chaos associated with the beginning minutes of first aid/CPR. The Airway Bridge, from BoundTree Medical, may also eliminate any practice of using cervical collars and/or head immobilizers only to prevent ET extubation.
